It is late, after hours, everyone wanted to leave work behind to enjoy the great British weather, and the last thing to do is to close the books on Marketing Events for the Quarter and guess what? Our CRM system is not available. Now it is not Sugar’s fault it is not available it is a network issue between us and our ISP, however it is the only downtime in 12 months – typical, stumped (a seasonal cricketing term), or maybe not!
Luckily we use a highly available business discovery and decision making platform, #HADMP, called QlikView and our wonderful Sugar Events Dashboard Application powered by QlikView had all the answers we needed to service the requirements of our marketing team. They did the analysis, updated the necessary documents, and closed shop. Off for Easter break.
Service outages can happen at any time with SaaS based applications and to depend upon them is to add risk to your business. We are pleased that we have adopted a decision making tool that avoids this risk for us. So pleased in fact we also market this tool for this very same reason. We rely so much on QlikView that we have it running on two servers in case one of them goes down, a very small investment in what is otherwise a very volatile world.
